Landing Expert Blog - August 25th

Check out today's (August 25) Landing expert blog entry, For those in transition, not knowing hurts the most.

In this blog, Alex Freund suggests that those in transition (unemployed) have a harder time finding a position because most of the rules of getting a job have changed since they began their last position. Formats of effective resumes are different. Each resume should be tailored to the position desired. And technology "has advanced to the point that the job search game is almost totally dependent upon it". Freund suggests that a poor image on Linked In, a common electronic tool for recruiters, could kick a candidate out of the competition for a job.

There's good news, however. You don't have to be in this job search by yourself. As part of the Network RI clientele you have many resources at your disposal. Take advantage of any workshops that are offered here at Network RI Providence. Next time you come in to see your career counselor, check out the white board in the waiting area. Then talk to your counselor about what is right for you.
